Preparation and Separation
I was awake from 12:30am to 1:30am in the night between 27th and 28th May; (afterwards, I realized that this was the exact time of the night, the 3rd watch of the night, when Ruth and Boaz were having their secret intimate conversation at the threshing floor).
The background understanding for the word that follows is based on the following foundational information:
1) when a marriage took place in ancient Jewish culture, it was depicted by the spreading of the the wing or fringe of the garment by the bridegroom, enfolding the bride in his protection and provision from thenceforth.
2) Pentecost or Shavuot is the time of the wheat harvest in the Israeli agricultural calendar.
I suddenly realized (no doubt with the help of the Holy Spirit) that Ruth went to threshing floor of Boaz during the wheat harvest but, strangely, he was threshing barley. I asked the Lord why he was threshing barley when the wheat harvest had just come in.
And He answered, "Because, yes, the barley has been harvested in another season, but now the chaff must now be removed from it. There must be a separation of the outer covering of the old season in order to come under the covering of the hem of the Bridegroom's garment. Yes, the old covering has protected during growth and maturity but it is of the preparation chapter and now harvest has come and those who are meet for the Master's use, must now come under His covering and forget their father's house. The King desires their beauty and they must be brought to Him in beautiful garments, just as Ruth came to Boaz perfumed and in her best garments to have the wing of his garment spread over her in marriage.
The bride separates from her parents and joins to her husband at the marriage ceremony, but first she must be wholly given to the Bridegroom. Naomi instructed and released Ruth, knowing full well what she was doing. This is why when she returned home from the threshing floor, Naomi asked her who she was. Was she changed, had she come under the covering of another, or was she naked and without a husband's covering and protection? Shavuot is the time of the wedding, the giving and receiving of vows. It is a solemn time, a time of nostalgia for the parents as their daughter is released to be part of another household. And there must be no looking back. Esther never returned to the house of women after her night with the king and Ruth married Boaz within the same 24 hours in which she went to the threshing floor.
Shavuot is a time of profound change, change of station and location. Ask My bridal company if they have said their goodbyes to the old covering, if they have released all that pertains to the old chapter in their hearts. There is a reason Ruth went to Boaz at the threshing floor - this is the only place where the winnowing fan is in action. It is the place of separation from and separation unto. Tell my people to prepare their hearts. Great change is ahead, and this they understand only through a glass darkly. Great impartation is also coming for those who have properly prepared and positioned themselves. Just as Ruth received 6 measures of barley in her mantle, so too My doves shall receive a great flood of outpouring in the season of this feast of Shavuot. They must cleanse their mantles and come and position themselves at the Bridegroom's feet, fragrant with pure worship from a cleansed and hungry heart and wait upon My timing. I will arise like a man wakened from sleep and commune with them. They will not be disappointed."
Rth 2:23 So she kept close to the maidens of Boaz, gleaning until the end of the barley and wheat harvests. And she lived with her mother-in-law.
Rth 3:2 And now is not Boaz, with whose maidens you were, our relative? See, he is winnowing barley tonight at the threshing floor. Rth 3:3 Wash and anoint yourself therefore, and put on your best clothes and go down to the threshing floor, but do not make yourself known to the man until he has finished eating and drinking.
Rth 3:8 At midnight the man was startled, and he turned over, and behold, a woman lay at his feet! Rth 3:9 And he said, Who are you? And she answered, I am Ruth your maidservant. Spread your wing [of protection] over your maidservant, for you are a next of kin.
Psa 45:10 Hear, O daughter, consider, submit, and consent to my instruction: forget also your own people and your father's house; Psa 45:11 So will the King desire your beauty; because He is your Lord, be submissive and reverence and honor Him.
Psa 45:14 She shall be brought to the King in raiment of needlework; with the virgins, her companions that follow her, she shall be brought to You.
